Playlists - The Quick, Simple and Fun Way to Listen

Playlists have become the simple way to experience music. These lists are "curated" - sometimes by humans, sometimes by machines - to offer music that you might not know but will probably like. We don't have machines but we do have humans that know about music. Most of our releases are the old fashioned type, but we do love to put together playlists - and we'll continue to do that.

We offer playlists that can be downloaded right from our store or we offer playlists on our Spotify and Apple Music channels that you can access if you belong to either of those services. (You can get our Spotify Channel if you don't pay, but you'll have to listen to commercials on the free tier.)

  • Lifestyle

Music fits well in the background. Even music people will shush you to hear in a concert hall might have been written for background purposes! If you don't mind talking or if you do, these playlists offer an hour (or so) of music meant to set a mood, so you can do two things at once (as long as one thing is listen to music).

  • One Good Hour

Our Playlist Series offers one great hour of music - we don't pull apart long works and give you one movement and then move on. But we concentrate on shorter works that give you a sense of an artist or an instrument.

  • The Artist

The Musical and Jazz Heritage record labels have featured many incredible artists - and we've drawn attention to these fine musicians with a series of "Portrait" playlists, where we dedicate a single playlist to one artist's series of MHS or JHS recordings.
