Founded and directed by Gillian B. Anderson, the Colonial Singers and Players of Washington, D.C. was a professional group of young vocalists and instrumentalists. They performed at The Kennedy Center, National Portrait Gallery, National Archives, American Philosophical Society and the White House.
Gillian B. Anderson is a musicologist, conductor and radio producer. Her credits include a book, Freedom 's Voice in Poetry and Song, scholarly articles, performing editions, radio programs, recordings and the co-production of the McDonald's Spring Festival of American Music at the Kennedy Center.
