We come full circle with two melodies by Turlough O'Carolan, “O’Carolan's Farewell to Music" and "Planxty Irwin," performed in contemporary folk style. The songs on this recording are very close to the hearts of the people involved, both composers and performers. They are about someone's parents or someone's children; someone's husband or someone's wife. We dedicate this record to them all: those we know, those we remember, and the many we can never know, who carried this music to us through time and across oceans.
